Yueyang Dongtingchun Tea Brewing Method

Dongting Spring Tea has delicate buds and leaves, so it is best to use a transparent glass cup to brew it with the “upward pouring method”. The water temperature should be around 80℃ (if you use 100℃ boiling water to brew it, it will destroy the vitamins in the buds and leaves, and make the soup tasteless). First, pour about 70% of boiling water into the glass cup, and when the water temperature cools to around 80℃, add 3 to 5 grams of dry tea. When pouring tea, the falling tea buds slowly sink to the bottom of the cup, resembling flying green and overlapping emeralds. When brewing Dongting Spring Tea, the tea leaves in the cup are like a green dragon spitting pearls, fish playing in the water, climbing on each other, and like bamboo shoots after rain, which is very interesting and spectacular.
