Guilin Maojian Tea Introduction
Guilin Maojian is a newly created famous tea, developed by Guilin Tea Research Institute in the early 1980s. It was rated as high-quality tea by the Ministry of Agriculture twice in 1985 and 1989. In 1993, it won the gold medal at the 1993 China High-Quality Agricultural Products and Scientific and Technological Achievements Equipment Exhibition held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Guilin Maojian Tea Production Process
Generally, the harvest starts in early March and ends around Qingming Festival. Different grades are harvested and picked separately, and the picking standards are as follows: Special grade Maojian tea requires one bud and one leaf with new shoots, Grade 1 Maojian tea requires one bud and one leaf with new shoots, and Grade 2 Maojian tea requires one bud and one leaf or one bud and two leaves with new shoots. After the fresh leaves are picked, they are spread, withered (manually withered and mechanically withered), rolled, unblocked, dried (two times with Maohuo and full fire), selected and blended, and scented.
Guilin Maojian Tea Quality Identification
In terms of appearance, the tea leaves of Guilin Maojian are tight and slender, upright and sharp, with visible white hairs, and are emerald green or dark green in color. After brewing, the aroma is clear and long-lasting, and the tea soup is bright yellow-green.
