Meitan Cuiya Tea Production Process

The tea is harvested around Qingming Festival (late March to mid-May), and the quality is best during the Qingming Festival. High-end Meitan Cuiya picks high-quality buds of Fuding Dabaicha, which are required to be 1 to 1.5 cm long; medium and low-end Meitan Cuiya picks single buds of large and medium-leaf tea tree varieties such as Qianmei 809 and Qianmei 601, which are required to be 1.5 to 3 cm long. After the fresh leaves are picked, they are made through the processes of spreading, killing (preliminary shaping), cooling after being taken out of the pot, second frying and stripping (setting), cooling, brightening the pot, removing the hair, enhancing the fragrance, and selecting the blank.
