Zhuyeqing Tea Introduction

Zhuyeqing is a newly created famous tea. It is a typical high mountain green tea produced at an altitude of 800 to 1,500 meters in Mount Emei. Every 500 grams of tea requires 35,000 to 45,000 buds. In addition, it is finely polished through more than ten processes such as shaking, grabbing, skimming and pressing, making the quality of Zhuyeqing the best among green teas.

Zhuyeqing Tea History

Zhuyeqing was created in 1964. In 1989, “Zhuyeqing” was officially approved as a trademark by the State Trademark Office. It is now exclusively owned by Sichuan Emeishan Zhuyeqing Tea Factory. The tea won the gold medal at the 14th Stuttgart International Exposition in Germany in 1993, the gold medal at the Beijing International Food and Processing Technology Expo in 1996, and the title of “China Tea Cup” high-quality famous tea in 1997.

Zhuyeqing Tea Production Process

Generally, the tea is harvested in early March (the Fuding tea varieties can be harvested in mid- to late February), and the harvesting standard is fresh leaves with a single bud or one bud and one leaf just beginning to unfold. High-end famous teas are harvested before Qingming Festival, and summer and autumn teas are only suitable for harvesting medium and low-end famous teas. After the fresh leaves are picked, they are refined through processes such as spreading, killing green, shaping, cooling, screening, and frying. Among them, the shaping process is relatively complicated, but now most of them are made by machinery, which greatly improves efficiency.

Zhuyeqing Tea Purchase Guide

Zhuyeqing is divided into several grades: tasting grade, meditation grade, and Taoism grade. Tasting grade is the best among teas, meditation grade is the treasure among teas, and Taoism grade is the rarest among treasures.

Zhuyeqing Tea Quality Identification

◎ Under normal circumstances, after brewing, the tea leaves stand up in a needle-like shape, with a yellowish-light green color and a crystal-clear soup. If the tea leaves spread out irregularly, the soup is turbid, or the color is dull, it is a substandard or old product. ◎ The leaves of low-grade tea leaves are coarse and not tightly wrapped. Once they are rinsed with high-temperature water, they will completely unfold.

Zhuyeqing Tea Brewing Method

To brew high-grade and delicate Bamboo Leaf Green Tea, you can choose to use a glass or white porcelain cup, and the water temperature is 80-85℃. It is advisable to use the “bottom-up method” to brew. The so-called bottom-up method is to first pour a small amount of water into the cup, put in the tea leaves, wait until the tea leaves are fully wetted, and then pour the water along the wall of the cup. The Bamboo Leaf Green brewed with this method and water temperature has a slightly green soup color, and the pointed tea leaves slowly unfold in the water. It is a good summer heat relief product. If it can be used with the mineral water from the Shenshui Pavilion of Mount Emei, it can brew out the true taste.
