Qiandao Yuye Tea Production Process
Spring tea is harvested before Qingming Festival. The picking standard is a bud with one bud and one leaf that has just begun to unfold, and the largest one bud and two leaves (the bud is required to be tender and evenly formed, and the bud is longer than the leaf), which is similar to the picking standard of West Lake Longjing. After the fresh leaves are picked, they are made through processes such as withering and shaping, screening and cooling, hot pot shaping, screening and sorting. There are 11 production techniques, including rubbing, wiping, shaking, pressing, straightening, grabbing, and grinding, which imitate the frying method of West Lake Longjing. Nowadays, the processing and production of Qiandao Yuye Tea has entered the “microwave era”. Put the tea leaves into the microwave control machine and bake them from top to bottom under the high heat radiation of the infrared combustion generator. This equipment has a unique function in extracting the intrinsic aroma of tea leaves.
