Tianmu Qingding Tea Introduction
Tianmu Qingding is a famous historical tea that has been restored to production. It is also called Tianmu Cloud Tea. It is an organic tea that is not fertilized with pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Most of the tea trees in Tianmu Mountain are distributed in mountain valleys with good natural conditions at an altitude of 600 to 1,200 meters. There is a saying: “Tianmu Mountain has beautiful mountain scenery, and Qingding Cloud Tea is fragrant.” After drinking Tianmu Mountain tea, the Ming Dynasty poet Yuan Hongdao exclaimed: “The fragrance of the first tea is far better than Longjing.”
Tianmu Qingding Tea History
Tianmu Qingding was listed as a tribute as early as the Ming Dynasty; it was successfully redeveloped in 1979. Taizi Temple and Longxu Temple in Dongtianmu Mountain, Lin’an City, Zhejiang Province, Xili and Xiaolingkeng in Yangling, Zhujia Village in Dongkeng, Senluoping in Hengdu, Lingxiao Peak in Jingshan, Longgong Mountain, Baiyun Mountain, etc.
Tianmu Qingding Tea Production Process
It is required to pick the tea leaves in the morning on a sunny day after the dew on the tea trees has dried up. Use your fingers to lift and pick, do not pinch with your fingernails, and do not bring fish leaves. The picking standard is fresh leaves with one bud and one leaf or one bud and two leaves that are just beginning to unfold, that is, the “sparrow tongue” shape. After picking the fresh leaves, they are processed through six processes: spreading, killing green, cooling, rolling, frying and drying. The production process of Tianmu Qingding tea is delicate. When frying tea, dry branches are used as fuel, not hard wood and branches and leaves, to prevent the fire temperature from being too high or too low to affect the color, aroma and taste of the finished tea. When killing green, stir-fry with bamboo chopsticks in a pan, and stir-fry thoroughly; roll and rub gently on coarse linen, and do not rub out tea juice. After rubbing, it is first fried and dried.
